Restaurant “Vincents” from the day of opening in 1994 by true gourmets is recognized as one of the most revered places in Northern Europe. The high reputation of the restaurant is known far beyond Latvia. The exquisite cuisine of the chef Martins Ritins was appreciated by such outstanding personalities and connoisseurs as the Emperor of Japan, Prince Charles, Elton John, Angela Merkel, George Bush, Heston Blumenthal and many others.
The restaurant “Vincents” is located in one of the most picturesque districts of Riga, built in art nouveau style, a 15-minute walk from Old Riga. The menu of the restaurant assumes both an ordinary dinner, and dishes for especially solemn occasions. The menu is always well thought out and corresponds to the season.
The restaurant “Vincents” maintains close ties with small peasant farms, producers and processors of products – adherents of the philosophy of Slow Food, buying from them products for the restaurant directly without intermediaries. He buys products of the freshest and highest quality, therefore, the menu changes almost weekly and corresponds to the seasons.
Restaurant Vincents is recognized as the best in Latvia for the second year in a row.
With the participation of an international jury, the best restaurants of Latvia were determined for the second year in a row, and like last year, the title “Best Restaurant of Latvia 2014 Ekselence” was awarded to “Vincents”.
At the awards ceremony, the winners of several special prizes were also announced. Prize “Martell” as the best chef received Martins Ritins, and the special prize “Best Dessert Ekselence 2014” was given to the restaurant “Vincents”.
The best sommelier of the Baltic countries is recognized by Kaspars Reitups from the restaurant Vincents.

At the Vana Tallinn Grand Prix for the ninth time, the best sommelier of the Baltic countries was recognized by Kaspars Reytops from Latvia (Vincents): “It is a great honor for me to win the title of the best sommelier of the Baltic countries. Being the first member of the four, today I had a precious chance to watch the other candidates, and therefore I am sure that it was very tough competition, where each of the candidates was very well prepared and showed high skill. And I feel especially proud that the title of the best sommelier of the Baltic States has been in Latvia for the third consecutive year. ”
This year the composition of the Vana Tallinn Grand Prix participants was very strong, and all the finalists without exception were worthy of victory. For nine years, during which the Vana Tallinn Grand Prix is held, the level of alcoholic culture has grown dramatically, and Vana Tallinn Grand Prix has become the most important sommelier tournament in the Baltic States.
